FAREWELL GLASSFEVER
After six months GlassFever, unfortunately the fever has ended. Last Sunday the finissage of GlassFever took place at DordtYart. It was a beautiful, successful day with many visitors and interesting lectures by Folkert de Jong and Studio Drift. Folkert de Jong talked about his first experience of working with glass and his adventure at Berengo Studio on Murano. Lonneke Gordijn of Studio Drift told the audience about their research into synthetic obsidian. Everyone was fascinated by the talks; ears were open for the stories and eyes were on the pictures they showed us.
This festive day also had a sad edge; it was the last day that DordtYart was filled with all the beautiful glass works. Monday, the first objects were already carefully packed in boxes and crates for transport to Italy. It was the farewell to a beautiful and successful season. On to the next!
TAKE A GLASS PIECE HOME
This week you can buy a flower from the installation of Koen Vanmechelen. For 35 euros you’ll get the essay about the work of Vanmechelen including a flower, created by an artist at the glass furnaces at DordtYart. An unforgettable souvenir of GlassFever! Interested? Please email to info@dordtyart.nl and we’ll contact you to make an appointment about picking up the flower(s) at DordtYart.
DORDTYART IN WINTER
Like in every winter season, in the upcoming cooler months DordtYart closes. We would like to open the doors for you around late April / early May. In the winter we’ll work on new plans for the new season. Through the newsletter we’ll keep you informed about the developments. You can also follow us throughout the year on Instagram (@DordtYart) and Facebook.
THANK YOU
Last but not least, we would like to thank you for your interest in GlassFever. We hope you enjoyed the beautiful works from the collection of Berengo, the new glass objects made at the furnaces at DordtYart, the lectures, workshops and all the other beautiful things of this season. See you next year!
