Nieuwsbrief - DordtYart

Na een prachtige zomer naderen wij nu de herfst en het einde van het seizoen. DordtYart toont nog drie weekenden hedendaagse geluidkunst met werken van 16 kunstenaars.

Geluidkunst is vanaf het begin een belangrijk onderdeel geweest in onze programmering waarbij er dit jaar twee extra grote installaties ter plekke zijn geconstrueerd, werken geschikt voor de hal en de plek. In de Volkskrant schrijft Rutger Pontzen: 'De tentoonstelling geeft een overzicht van geluiden en klanken die, hoe abstract ze op zichzelf ook zijn, je over kilometers afstand kunnen laten dwalen.' Kortom de bezoekers reizen door ruimte en tijd.

U bent van vrijdag t/m zondag van 11.00 tot 17.00 uur welkom en op de zondagen programmeren we extra activiteiten:

23 september, 15.00 uur: lezing TUSSENBEELD
Als onderdeel van de extra tentoonstelling TUSSENBEELD, achter in de Hal wordt een lezing gehouden door Anne Berk, curator en publicist. De tentoonstelling is georganiseerd door Trudy Kunkeler naar aanleiding van de uitgave van het boek over haar werk met dezelfde titel.

30 september, 15.00 uur: performance Horst Rickels en Robert Pravda
In de hal staat een diagonale lijn van 8 verschillende luidsprekerobjecten waarbij de luidsprekers zelf om hun verticale of horizontale as draaien. Door deze rotatie verandert de focus van de auditieve waarneming voortdurend. De klank wordt zowel rechtstreeks via de speaker ervaren als ook indirect via de variërende reflectie van de ruimteakoestiek van DordtYart.
Waar de installatie u een eindeloze variatie van eenzelfde reeks van geluiden brengt, is tijdens het concert 'Soundtrack voor een imaginaire film' het principe van ontwikkeling aan de orde: Geluiden van orgelpijpen met over- en onderdruk die geenszins meer aan het traditionele orgel doen denken, opnames van aan elkaar schurende stalen steigers van de 'Landungsbrücken' in Hamburg, een boventoonkoor in de marmergrotten van Carrara en fragmenten van 'Fort-Klank', een klank-installatie van Dick Raaijmakers en Horst Rickels.

Naast de performance van Rickels en Pravda wordt de Wind Cello van Lars Kynde bespeeld.

7 oktober, 15.00 uur: performances Andreas Sahl Andersen en Lars Kynde
Tijdens de finissage zijn er performances van Andreas Sahl Andersen en Lars Kynde. Tijdens deze middag zijn veel kunstenaars aanwezig voor deze feestelijke afsluiting.

After a beautiful summer we are now approaching autumn and the end of the season. DordtYart shows contemporary sound art with works by 16 artists for another three weekends.

Sound art has been an important part of our programming from the beginning. Two large installations have been constructed on site this time, working well for the hall and the place. Rutger Pontzen writes in de Volkskrant: 'The exhibition gives an overview of sounds that, however abstract they may be, can make you wander about miles away.' In short, the visitors travel through space and time.

You are welcome from Friday to Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm and on the Sundays we program extra activities:

September 23, 15.00 hrs: reading TUSSENBEELD
As part of the extra exhibition TUSSENBEELD, in the back of the Hall a lecture will be held by Anne Berk, curator and publicist. The exhibition is organized by Trudy Kunkeler as a result of the publication of the book about her work with the same title.

30 September, 15.00 hrs: performance Horst Rickels and Robert Pravda
In the hall there is a diagonal line of 8 different loudspeaker objects where the loudspeakers themselves revolve around their vertical or horizontal axis. Because of this rotation, the focus of auditory perception is constantly changing. The sound is experienced directly through the speaker as well as indirectly through the varying reflection of the room acoustics of DordtYart.
Where the installation brings you an endless variation of the same series of sounds, during the concert 'Soundtrack for an imaginary film' the principle of development is discussed: Sounds of organ pipes with over- and underpressure that no longer reminds of the traditional organ, recordings of abrasive steel scaffolding of the 'Landungsbrücken' in Hamburg, an overtone choir in the marble caves of Carrara and fragments of 'Fort-Klank', a sound installation by Dick Raaijmakers and Horst Rickels.
Also on this beautiful Snuday the instrument Wind Cello by Lars Kynde is played.

October 7, 15.00 hrs: finissage Science of Sound with performances by Andreas Sahl Andersen and Lars Kynde
During the finissage there will be performances by Andreas Sahl Andersen and Lars Kynde and many artists will be present.
