Opening Science of Sound: 1 september, 15.00 uur
Zet het in uw agenda: vanaf 1 september is DordtYart open met de nieuwe tentoonstelling Science of Sound! Klinkende kunstwerken van een zeer diverse groep kunstenaars vullen de oude machinehal. Op de bovenverdieping van DordtYart toont kunstenaar Justin Bennett zes audiovisuele werken in het door Krijn de Koning ontworpen labyrint. Maar ook over het buitenterrein vloeien de geluidgolven. Kunstenaar Edwin van der Heide plaatst zijn werk Pneumatic Sound Field. Een gigantisch werk van 20 meter strijkt uit over de landtong. Kunstenaar Lars Kynde plaatst op het einde van de stijger in de haven zijn nieuwe werk Wind Cello. Tijdens de opening zal dit bijzondere instrument bespeeld worden.

Openingstijden en programma
Van 1 september t/m 7 oktober is DordtYart geopend van vrijdag t/m zondag van 11.00 - 17.00 uur. Het café is elke dag open voor een kopje koffie of thee. Lunchen bij DordtYart kan in het weekend (zaterdag & zondag). Houdt op de website van DordtYart de agenda in de gaten voor speciale weekenden met performances of avonden vol klanken, zoals op zaterdag 8 september. Kunstenaar Andreas Sahl Andersen bespeelt dan zijn installatie en kunstenaar Paul Devens geeft een speciale performance.

TUSSENBEELD
Tijdens de tentoonstelling Science of Sound zal achterin het pand een extra tentoonstelling te zien zijn, georganiseerd door kunstenaar Trudy Kunkeler. De tentoonstelling is naar aanleiding van haar nieuwe boek TUSSENBEELD dat op 2 september om 15.00 uur gepresenteerd zal worden. Naast eigen werk tonen Anne Ausloos, Jeroen Bechtold en Eve Ariza op uitnodiging van Kunkeler werk met vergelijkbare uitgangspunten.
Het nieuwe boek laat een selectie zien uit het werk van Kunkeler uit de periode 1990 tot 2017 met foto's van objecten, inspiratiebronnen, schetsen en teksten. De presentatie van het boek en de opening van de tentoonstelling vinden beiden plaats op zondag 2 september om 15.00 uur. Piet Augustijn (oud-conservator hedendaagse kunst Gorcums Museum) zal op deze feestelijke middag spreken.

Opening Science of Sound: 1 September, 3 pm
Mark it down: from September 1, DordtYart is open with the new exhibition Science of Sound! Sounding artworks from a very diverse group of artists fill the old machine hall. On the top floor of DordtYart, artist Justin Bennett shows six audiovisual works in the labyrinth designed by Krijn de Koning. But the sound waves also flow over the outside area. Artist Edwin van der Heide places his work Pneumatic Sound Field. A gigantic work of 20 meters is spread over the headland. Artist Lars Kynde places his new work Wind Cello at the end of the climber in the harbor. This special instrument will be played during the opening.

Opening hours DordtYart
From 1 September till 7 October, DordtYart is open from Friday to Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm. The cafe is open every day for a cup of coffee or tea. Lunch at DordtYart is possible in the weekends (Saturday & Sunday). Keep an eye on the agenda on the DordtYart website for special weekends with performances and evenings full of sounds, like the 8th of september. Artist Andreas Sahl Andersen plays his installation and Paul Devens gives a special performance. |

Ceramic sculptures at DordtYart
During the Science of Sound exhibition, an extra exhibition will be shown in the back of the building, organized by artist Trudy Kunkeler. The exhibition is due to her new book, TUSSENBEELD, which will be presented at 3 pm on 2 September. In addition to their own work, Anne Ausloos, Jeroen Bechtold and Eve Ariza show work with similar starting points on the invitation of Kunkeler.

The new book shows a selection from the work of Kunkeler from the period 1990 to 2017 with objects, sources of inspiration, sketches and texts. The presentation of the book and the opening of the exhibition will take place on Sunday 2 September at 3 pm. Piet Augustijn (former curator of contemporary art Gorcums Museum) will speak on this festive afternoon.
