Reminder: opening Science of Sound
Zaterdag 1 september, 15.00 uur
Aanstaande zaterdag opent de nieuwe tentoonstelling Science of Sound bij DordtYart. Hier nodigen wij u graag voor uit! Om 15.00 uur wordt de tentoonstelling geopend en zal de hal zich weer vullen met geluidgolven.
Klinkende kunstwerken van een zeer diverse groep kunstenaars vullen de oude machinehal, het labyrint van Krijn de Koning op tweede verdieping en het buitenterrein van DordtYart. Speciaal op de opening wordt het nieuwe instrument van Lars Kynde bespeelt door Wen Chin Fu. Ze speelt No. 1 op de Wind Cello: een stuk dat Lars speciaal schreef om de condities van het weer en het instrument mooi op elkaar af te stemmen.
Mocht u niet aanwezig kunnen zijn op de opening, dan kunt u de tentoonstelling nog ervaren t/m 7 oktober *(vrijdag t/m zondag, 11.00 - 17.00 uur). Volgende week zaterdag (8 september) is een bijzondere dag met performances van Paul Devens en Andreas Sahl Andersen.

Zondag 2 september om 15.00 uur: opening de tentoonstelling TUSSENBEELD
Een tentoonstelling georganiseerd en samengesteld door Trudy Kunkeler. De tentoonstelling is naar aanleiding van haar nieuwe boek TUSSENBEELD dat gepresenteerd zal worden. Naast haar eigen werk tonen Anne Ausloos, Jeroen Bechtold en Eve Ariza hun werken. Piet Augustijn zal op deze feestelijke middag spreken.

Performances Paul Devens en Andreas Sahl Andersen
Zaterdag 8 september, 15.00 uur
Paul Devens geeft de speciale performance 'Copper'. Deze sonische performance voegt zich naar de ruimte van DordtYart doordat de akoestiek aangesproken wordt door de veelheid aan tonen en boventonen. De compositie bestaat uit nauwelijks merkbare, zeer trage verschuivingen en glissando's die de sensorische rol van het luisteren aanspreekt.
Het geluid van 'Copper' wordt voortgebracht door digitale en analoge synthesizers die aangesloten zijn op een luidsprekersysteem, verspreid opgesteld door de hal. Het publiek kan zich laten onderdompelen in het geluid.
Andreas Sahl Andersen bespeelt voor het eerst zijn nieuwe werk dat hij opbouwt in de week na de opening. Dit werk is een steeds groeiende verzameling onderdelen die verbindingen met elkaar maken. De structuur van het werk wordt steeds weer opnieuw opgebouwd in relatie tot zijn tijdelijke omgeving. Deze structuur bepaalt vervolgens ook de muzikale compositorische mogelijkheden. Het is installatie met licht, geluid en geur. Het is performance en het is muziek.

Reminder: opening of Science of Sound
Saturday, September 1, 15.00 hrs
This Saturday the new exhibition Science of Sound opens at DordtYart and we would like to invite you! At 15.00 hours the exhibition will be opened and the hall will be fill again with sound waves.
Sounding artworks from a very diverse group of artists fill the old machine hall, the labyrinth of Krijn de Koning on the second floor and the outdoor area of DordtYart. The new instrument of Lars Kynde will be played by Wen Chin Fu especially at the opening. She plays No. 1 on the Wind Cello: a piece that Lars wrote specifically to fine-tune the conditions of the weather and the instrument.
If you are unable to attend the opening, you can still experience the exhibition until 7 October (Friday to Sunday, 11 am to 5 pm). Next Saturday (8 September) is a special day with performances by Paul Devens and Andreas Sahl Andersen.

The exhibition is due to her new book INTERMEDIATE that will be presented. Next to her own work, Anne Ausloos, Jeroen Bechtold and Eve Ariza show their works. Piet Augustijn will speak during this festive afternoon. |

Performances Paul Devens and Andreas Sahl Andersen
Saturday 8 September, 15.00 hrs
On Saturday 8 September, two Science of Sound artists will give performances in the hall.
Paul Devens gives the special performance 'Copper'. This sonic performance fills DordtYart with multitude tones and overtones. The composition consists of hardly noticeable, very slow shifts and glissando's that appeal to the sensory role of listening.
The sound of 'Copper' is produced by digital and analog synthesizers connected to a speaker system, that distributes the sounds throughout the whole hall. The audience can immerse themselves in sound.
Andreas Sahl Andersen plays his new work for the first time. This work is an ever-growing collection of parts that make connections with each other. The structure is sculpted in relation to its temporary environment at DordtYart and its musical compositional possibilities are hereby determined. It is installation with light, sound and smell. It is performance and it is music.
