Hall filled with sounds during the finissage of Sense of Sound
On 15th of October the DordtYart season is closed in a festive matter with performances, presentations, and lots of sounds in the hall, while on the background a lovey autumn sun shined on the art works.
For a third and last weekend Hans van Koolwijk was present at DordtYart for performances with Schreck Ensemble in his Belleninstallatie. His own bells, made of bone China porcelain, and bells from Birma, Japan, and Tibet, pealed together with vocals and live electronica from Schreck Ensemble. Besides this, we enjoyed the performance Organa of Nils Davidse and Elise’t Hart on their house organs, and The Poet by Maria Barnas searched for a last time for the right words for his poem.

Artist Elise ’t Hart elaborated on the first floor, in her Instituut voor Huisgeluid (Institute for House Sounds) about the growing archive, about why she collects house sounds, and about her collaboration with musician Nils Davidse. Artist Matthias König talked about his way of working, and about the art work at DordtYart, A human drummer trying to imitate a drum machine trying to imitate a human drummer.

Looking back on DordtYart 2017
The hall is empty again for winter, but in our memories the sounds and tones of Sense of Sound resound.
In the last week of the exhibition a nice review is published in Metropolis M about the exhibition, written by chief editor Domeniek Ruyters.
