August 28th: Presentations artists Peter Vink and Conny Groenewegen
On this beautiful Sunday afternoon, artists Peter Vink and Conny Groenewegen take you into their research and their temporarily studio’s at DordtYart. This afternoon starts outside on the land of DordtYart. Here you’ll find the new work by Peter Vink ‘Werk van Hippos’. The view from the land on the new build neighborhood is the inspiration of the new work. Vink placed a metal grid and is filling this grid with 1500 pieces of glass. Every piece is hand casted, so every piece has unique characteristics and refracts light in a different way. Vink will explain this work, the proces and his experience with glass, a medium that was totally new to him. After that, we’ll go to the temporarily studio of designer Conny Groenewegen. Groenewegen is a currently works on a research about the structures of seed pods. Research on the materiality of the skin, the structure and the stability of both the exterior and the interior of the seed. She is creating a space where you can experience this materiality as visitor. The combination of soft wool and shiny, hard and reflective glass.. How the two materials together in one universe? Conny will talk about her research and shows her results.
