Volgende week zondag 11 oktober is de laatste dag van een lang DordtYart seizoen. Nog nooit zo vroeg gestart tijdens de ART Rotterdam in februari en laat geëindigd, half oktober. De kunst heeft ons hiertoe verleid. De werken functioneren prachtig in de hal en er zijn drie nieuwe werken op het buitenterrein verschenen.

FINISSAGE DORDTYART 2015

Op de feestelijke afsluiting van het seizoen zijn alle kunstenaars aanwezig. We zijn die dag geopend vanaf 11.00 uur zodat u nog volop kunt genieten van bijvoorbeeld Marnix de Nijs zijn Scan, Sweep, Swipe Wipe of Wineke Gartz’ Forwards Backwards nog eens kunt bewandelen.

Het finissage-programma start om 15.00 uur met een presentatie van Julien Grossmann, die zijn bronnen onthult. Grossmann geeft uitleg bij zijn nieuwe werk Breakaway Songs, gaat in gesprek met Gerrit Willems en laat een fragment zien van het filmessay The Forgotten Space van Noël Burch & Allan Sekula, dat van grote invloed is geweest op zijn recente werk. Vervolgens geeft Zoro Feigl een spectaculaire performance.

Het seizoen wordt afgesloten met drank en culinaire hoogtepunten van Deborah uit de keuken.

Zoals bekend wordt de hal na 11 oktober leeg geruimd, alleen het werk van Roland Schimmel The Innocent Mind uit 2013 blijft staan. Roland won recent de Akademiepijs Astronomie en Kunst van de KNAW en de Akademie van Kunsten.  Buiten overwinteren ook enkele werken tot deelname aan het volgende seizoen, waaronder KAPKAR/DY-K92 van Frank Havermans en Hydra van Zoro Feigl.

LIMA OP TOPFLOOR

11 oktober is tevens de laatste mogelijkheid om onze selectie van video’s uit de collectie van LIMA te zien op de topfloor. Deze absurdistische korte films zijn een verrassende aanvulling op de presentatie in de hal beneden en het labyrint van Krijn de Koning blijft verrassen.

Sunday next week, October 11th, is the last day of a long DordtYart season. Never started so early with the ART Rotterdam in February and ended late, mid-October. The art has seduced us to do this. The works function beautifully in the hall and three new works in the outside area appeared.

FINISSAGE DORDTYART 2015

At the festive finissage of the season, all the artists are present. We open that day at 11am so you can still enjoy for example Marnix de Nijs his Scan, Sweep, Swipe, Wipe or walk Wineke Gartz' Forwards Backwards.

The finissage-program starts at 3pm with a presentation of Julien Grossmann, revealing its sources. Grossmann will speak about his new work Breakaway Songs, in conversation with Gerrit Willems, and show a fragment of the film essay The Forgotten Space by Noël Burch & Allan Sekula, which has been a important influence on his recent work.

The season will end with drinks and culinary delights from the kitchen of Deborah.

As is known, after the 11th of October, the hall will be cleared, only the work of Roland Schimmel The Innocent Mind form 2013 remains. Roland recently won the Akademiepijs Astronomy and Art of the KNAW and the Academy of Arts. October 11 is also the last opportunity to see our selection of videos from the collection of LIMA on the topfloor. These absurdist short films are a surprising addition to the presentation in the hall downstairs and the labyrinth of Krijn de Koning continues to surprise.
