SENSE OF SOUND: PRESENTATIons
Listen to, see and experience half a century of soundart in one exhibition, that's what Sense of Sound brought our visitors. Sound art experts listened to their favorite pioneers' work and got to know new sound artists, the DordtYart visitors surprised their ears with one, for many, new forms of art. During the presentations, some Sense of Sound artists tell us what sound means in their work.
HANS VAN KOOLWIJK and SCHRECK ENSEMBLe
In the new installation of Van Koolwijk are hanging about fifty bells. He plays De Bellen (The Bells) together with three members of Ensemble Interface: Hans van Eck (founder of the ensemble, compositions, director), Caroline Erkelens (vocalist) and Jan-Kees van Kampen (live electronics). The fifty bells sound different: they come from Japan, Burma, Tibet and London. In addition, Van Koolwijk made fragile specimens of bone china porcelain. The sounds are recorded precisely and spread through the hall with the help of speakers. The artists combine this sound with patches of text in different languages, bringing visitors to another state of consciousness, in which dream, forgotten memory and penetrating reality come together.

LAATSTE WEEKEND SENSE OF MUSIc
Last weekend, beautiful sounds came from the musicpavilion at DordtYart. James Oesi & Diamanda Dramm gave pieces of Bach a personal twist with their own tools and talent, interchanged with pieces specially written for this kind of musicians, which unfolded the talent of musicians to the public. Slagwerk Den Haag filled the whole pavilion with instruments and vibrations. The curiosity, tension, rhythms and tones are recorded by RTV Dordrecht. Check out and listen here.
This weekend, the last concerts take place in the Sound Pavilion:
